I've got 4 Nuance by Salma Hayek polishesfor you today! Nuance polishes have a
really good formula. Even when one is
slightly streaky, it self levels and becomes streak-less on the second or third
coat. These are around $6-7 at CVS, so
not that cheap but not exactly expensive either.
The bottles claim to be
“Chip Resistant, Long Wear and have Natural Botanical Extracts”. I have yet to wear one of these longer than a
day but from what I saw, it certainly is chip resistant. I can’t say anything about the “natural
botanical extracts” bit because, really, what the hell do I know about that? Nothing, I say!
Nuance Prickly Pear
Prickly Pear is a warmer
leaning dark green. I can see how this
would seem a bit blue in some lights and, when it separates in the bottle, it has
a yellow base. This could be a one coater if a thick coat is used. However, I used two coats here.
Nuance Sea Glass
Sea Glass is a pretty mint
color which leans warmer than most of the mints I own. This was 3 coats and I noticed some slight
patchiness towards the base of my nail where the formula thinned out a bit. However, I think this was due to user error. I
would maybe use 4 coats next time. But come
on, who wants to sit there for 5 days waiting for all those coats to dry.
Nuance Azalea
Azalea is a shimmery red
that is surprisingly not that sheer.
When I picked this up I assumed it would be super sheer and takes at
least 4 coats to be presentable. This
was two coats and, while you do see visible nail line, it’s really not bothersome
to me at all. The shimmer gives this
polish a bit of the life it needed to avoid becoming an otherwise somewhat
boring color.
Nuance Coral Reef
Coral Reef is a warm
medium orange. This was 3 coats with
some slight patchiness but, again, probably user error and not really noticeable.
I really like these
polishes. I will go back and pick some
more up in the near future. I had my eye
on a grey with a silver shimmer and a pink. Eh, what the hell... off I go to CVS.
I a silver/grey nail.
