Hey there! My name is Vanessa and I have an obsession with all things "nail". I’m just going to jump right into
it...
I received my Square Hue subscription in the mail the other
day. I love this box! The neon, the matte, the duochrome. I have noticed that most, if not all, Square
Hue polishes dry very fast.
(Please excuse my dry cuticles – it was not a good cuticle
day! No amount of oil would help these parched
babies... Sigh)
SQUARE HUE TURN ON 1966
I had a hard time photographing Turn On due to the neon factor. Like most yellow polishes, this one was pretty streaky (with VNL - visible nail line) and I
had to put it over a white. I don’t
really enjoy going past 3 coats as I hate waiting for it to dry (ain't nobody got time for that!). Using a white base cuts down on the amount of
coats that you'll need to achieve opaqueness. This one dries matte.
SQUARE HUE TUNE IN 1966
In the bottle this is a pretty bright purple. I'm not sure I'd call it a neon which is how they describe it. On the nail, a muted dark pinkish-purple. You have to make sure that your coats are very even to prevent an uneven buildup between layers. This one dries matte.
SQUARE HUE DROP OUT
1966
This is my favorite.
I am a sucker for duochromes.
Especially purple, pinks and blues!
This duochrome is a bit different than what I am used
to. Instead of a smoother transition
between the purple and blue, you'll notice a blue shimmer has been added. I think this is a more unique duochrome
compared to the rest in my collection.
I mean, look at it:
And, now it's time for a mani bomb as evidenced above.
Thanks for stopping by!
Tomorrow is a new day full of new nail polish sales!
-Vanessa
