Indigo Bananas (Part 1)

Ah, Saturday.  It’s finally here.  This weekend I get to see Penn & Teller with my husband!  I can’t wait.

About a month ago I received my Indigo Bananas order in the mail and I’ve been staring at them with a satisfied smile on my face ever since.

Indigo Bananas Carbon Dallas

Carbon Dallas is a beautiful and simple medium blue. It dries more satin than matte.  Three coats to fill in some slight patchiness.

Indigo Bananas Storm Drops

Storm Drops is grey with green shimmer, teeny silver and white flakes.  The green shimmer doesn’t really translate to the nail as much as I’d like but it is still noticeable if you catch it in the right light.  This is a 3 coater for me.  I just wasn’t satisfied with the slight patchiness of 2 coats.  Storm Drops dries pretty glossy.

Indigo Bananas Grave Importance

Grave Importance is a unique addition to my collection.  In person, it is red in the bottle and a dark pinkish red on the nail.  This was 2 coats but it could definitely use 3 coats.  But the best part is the iridescent flakes throughout.  Sometimes when I look at this bottle I feel like I must be going colorblind or, at the very least, bonkers.  Am I the only one that sees this as being a burnt reddish color (in person)?  When I look up swatches, this doesn’t match up.  Maybe I have a strange bottle.

Happy Saturday Everybody!
